I am so happy to finally get to introduce you to my sweet sweet angel girl with this awesome birth announcement made by the amazingly talented EVEN KEEL. Emalyn arrived just a few days earlier than I had expected & even though I had read 100 blogs, made 100 lists & had everything (and I mean EVERYTHING!!!) prepared, nothing could have prepared me for the day she decided to grace us with her presence. I went to my doctor’s appointment on that Tuesday expecting to hear the same ole story but little did I know, I was in labor! I was SHOCKED! Everyone had said. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN ITS TIME!! Guess what, I didn’t know. I was freaking out… of course the first thing that comes to my head, my camera. I had finished photographing & blogging her nursery just the day before so my camera & equipment was strung throughout the house. Since I was sent straight to the hospital, the question lingering in my head was “How was my husband ever going to get it all together properly & to the hospital?!” My overly prepared self, just didn’t seem prepared for any of this!! After a long day of labor, Emalyn seemed to have changed her mind and thought she might just like to hang out on the inside a little longer (which I would have been fine with too… just so I could go home and finish vacuuming, cleaning, & packing those last few things I had planned to pick up that final week of pregnancy). After some debate, a C-section seemed to be in the doctor’s orders…which I was also completely unprepared for. I HAD NOT PINNED ANYTHING REGARDING C-SECTIONS! I HAD NOT READ ANY C-SECTION STORY BLOGS! & the worst. I COULD NOT HAVE OUR BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHED!
Everything I had planned or prepared myself for was not happening… I instantly felt overwhelmed!
But the minute I finally got to hold my little one made everything else seem to melt away.
Nothing could have prepared me for this.
Or for photographing your own newborn after c-section. I had so many setups planned & so many poses I wanted to try with my very own in-house model.. needless to say we kept it simple & I only got through 1 setup. I really should have hired someone but I am happy with the ones we did get 🙂
